Electronic Housing

Electronic housings are usually very expensive items.
Here I got two identical scrap Del pc's and stripped them. The top panel of the second pc was used to make the front panel.
After drilling all the holes and cut outs, I sprayed it with black car paint.
3 off, 15 mm aluminium rails were installed, to support the wire looms, and provide a top deck for the break out board and additional electronic boards (see top left).
I kept the original, power supply back panel mainly to fill the hole and keep the mains plug. I also kept the original fan to provide cooling. The stepper drives are mounted on a large aluminium plate to provide an additional heat sink.
The name plates were made from cheap plastic rules with laminated titles behind them.
