Having purchased some motors, you now have to decide how to drive them. From all the detail I have read, running the motors with a higher voltage gives better results, than  running them on lower voltage , which also leads to increases the current.

 

With this in mind I have chosen 80 volts, which for a small machine seems a good compromise.

 

I am not an expert here so it may be best to consult the suppliers for advice. However my system is working really well with the 80 volt setup.

 

If you look on eBay and the other suppliers listed here, many sell a bulk lot of motors with matching drivers, power supply and break out boards. These usually represent very good value and can take the headache out of selecting and matching the parts.
